Updated: Lovecraft joins The Gathering...

The Gathering, a project we first mentioned here, looks to be moving forward according to a report by fangoria.com! The horror anthology has already amassed an amazing cast including William Sadler, Doug Bradley and Udo Kier even though production isn't set to go until late 2010 or early 2011...

Other actors already cast include Bill Moseley, Danielle Harris, Clint Howard, David Naughton (who is reportedly playing the role of H.P. Lovecraft), Billy Drago, Larry Fessenden, Debbie Rochon, Adrienne King, Brian O’Halloran, Lin Shaye, Ellen Sandweiss, Brinke Stevens and Kiowa Gordon, with Robert Englund and Linda Blair in discussions to join. Jeffrey Combs was being considered for the role of Edgar Allan Poe at one point, but there was no mention of his involvement in the recent article...

The framing story (The Storytellers) for The Gathering, to be directed by Jon Keeyes and written by Carl Kirshner, is set on Halloween night and revolves around the devil, who brings together Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, H.P. Lovecraft and Mary Shelley, to share their most frightening untold tales. The winner, chosen by the devil, receives the ultimate prize: the chance to leave purgatory forever...

Final casting and financing are currently underway, so watch this space for updates! Meanwhile, head over to fangoria.com for more...

Update: Dread Central reports that Danielle Harris has not been cast in this project, as previously reported...
