Is Ron Howard adapting Lovecraft...

This one could really open the Lovecraftian floodgates...

Variety reports that Universal and Imagine Entertainment are teaming up for an adaptation of The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft. The Image Comics graphic novel, created by Mac Carter and Jeff Blitz, "borrows elements from Lovecraft's life, such as his family's struggle with mental illness and his own bouts with writer's block, and transforms the young writer's darkest nightmares into reality when he comes across a book that puts a curse on him and lets the evils he conjures up loose on the world". Look for it to hit shelves on April 8th...

Mac Carter will adapt the graphic novel for the screen and serve as executive producer along will Blitz. Imagine's Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are producers...

According to Variety sources, the film is a potential directing vehicle for Ron Howard...
